Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By using Ekkleo, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. These terms apply to all users including church administrators, congregation members, and visitors.

2. The service

Ekkleo provides a church community management platform including member directories, event management, online giving, content management, volunteer scheduling, and pastoral care tools. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

3. Your account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate information when registering.
  • Church administrators are responsible for all content and data entered into their community account.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use Ekkleo.

4. Payments and subscriptions

  • Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as selected.
  • Monthly plans may be cancelled at any time. Annual plans include a 30-day refund window.
  • Online giving fees: Ekkleo charges 0.5% on donations processed through the platform. Stripe's standard processing fees also apply.
  • All prices are in GBP and inclusive of VAT where applicable.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Ekkleo to:

  • Post illegal, harmful, or abusive content.
  • Spam members or misuse the communications tools.
  • Impersonate others or provide false information.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or exploit the platform.
  • Process fraudulent donations or misuse the giving tools.

6. Data and privacy

Your use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy. Church administrators act as data controllers for their congregation's data. Ekkleo acts as a data processor on behalf of churches. Churches are responsible for compliance with applicable data protection laws (including UK GDPR).

Our Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is incorporated into these Terms and applies to all churches using Ekkleo. By accepting these Terms, the church also accepts the DPA. The DPA defines the data we process, our security obligations, sub-processors, data subject rights, and retention policies including the Gift Aid 6-year retention exception.

7. Limitation of liability

Ekkleo is provided "as is". We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from use of the platform. Our total liability is limited to the fees paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may close your account at any time from your account settings or by contacting hello@ekkleo.com.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
